When a rider sits unevenly or moves against the horses natural rhythm, the horse must work harder to compensate. This can:

Pilates for Riders

Pilates is one of the most effective ways for riders to improve balance, alignment and control in the saddle. Many riding related issues stem from imbalances or restrictions in the riders on body, whether from repetitive yard work, past falls, stiffness or uneven strength from everyday habits.

At Truly Aligned Pilates and Massage, I help riders develop strength, symmetry and mobility needed to move fluidly with their horse and communicate more clearly through the seat, legs and hands.

Even the most experienced riders often struggle with imbalances such as:

One hip sitting higher than the other
Collapsing or gripping through one side
Tight hips, hamstrings and lower back
Uneven weight distribution through the seat
Weak core connection leading to instability

What Your Session Includes

Each 60-minute session covers:

A postural and mobility assessment
Individualised massage work to release tension and correct imbalances
Targeted techniques to improve symmetry and dynamic flexibility
Advice and explanations so you understand what’s happening in your body
Personalised aftercare exercises to help maintain alignment between sessions
These exercises are simple and designed to reinforce the improvements made during your session.
